Good news!! I've recovered a file that has everything but the last 7k of Forever Sky I wrote. This has now been emailed to 3 email addresses and backed up in as many places!
An important 7k words but oh well... better than 42k!
Thanks to Steve from Storyist support

So. Minor disaster today. Most of Forever Sky has disappeared thanks to a very weird bug or virus that corrupted and then deleted 3 of my WIPs — on my laptop and Dropbox and none of my backups will open either.
I have managed to print out what I have written from the corrupted file and this is 2/3 of the first draft :(
At least I have this to copy!
I think this is Jem's fault. I don't think he liked what I made him do in the last part I wrote.
Currently I'm feeling lucky this happened now and not with Reprise a few weeks ago or I'd be having a nervous breakdown. Not exactly what I need though.
