INTERVIEW WITH AMANDA

Do you see writing as a career?

Definitely!

Who or what is your inspiration?

Mostly music and whatever I happen to be reading at the time.

Do you have any pets?

A bluetick coonhound named Chance (he is a BIG, spoiled baby)

Early bird or night owl?

A little bit of both depending on the time of year.

Any tips for new writers?

Obsession is the only way to get anything done.

If you were a shoe, what kind would you be and why?

A pink fuzzy slipper.

If you could live in any movie, which would it be?

Reservoir Dogs I love the soundtrack and anything Tarantino!

Guilty Pleasure?

Mac n’ Cheese…yummy

Are there scenes or people in your book that you took from your real life?

Conviction is inspired by Shakespeare’s Othello, but there is nothing in there that is non-fiction.

Which character in your book would you most like to hang out with?

Probably Reid. I think he’s wonderfully interesting. (I’d love to hand out with Charlie…but then nothing would get done.) hehe

Are you working on anything new? How is it going?

I’m in the middle of another new adult romance series. *swoon*

More shockingly, her parents’ souls were stolen by their murderer.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Keren lives in the UK and is an avid bookworm; she has been since she read things like Black Beauty, What Katy Did and The Hobbit as a child. Her first real memories of reading are the summers she used to lie on her bed and re-read What Katy Did and What Katy Did Next.

Over the years she has come to realise that she is a bit OCD about books. They have to be in perfect condition without the slightest bit of damage.

She is a book reviewer and has been for the past 18 months or so.

The idea for Stolen came to her one day but she never thought she’d actually write it let alone publish it. If it wasn’t for her author friend Kira Saito, the idea would still be stuck in her head not on paper. But constant love and support from Kira is why you are now able to read Stolen.

Stolen is her first novel but now that she’s written one, she knows she needs to write more. There will be one sequel, called Freed which will be from Bodhi’s POV. This will be set a couple of years on.

Then, the plan is for her to write either NA or Adult Contemporary Romances. She has a big crush on Lady Antebellum’s music at the moment and their songs have inspired a few book ideas.

COVER REVEAL – For Always by Janae Mitchell

“For Always”

* Book #1 in the For Always Series *

Coming November 2013…

 ForAlways_Amazon

Malyn Reed meets, and quickly falls in love with, Beau Brogan, who seems to be perfect in every way…

Except for the fact that he died in 1910…

Malyn Reed has been able to see spirits her entire life. Now that she’s almost seventeen, she has learned to differentiate between the living and the dead, making her gift feel less like an evil curse. She ignores the spirits she encounters on a daily basis, which has made living side by side with them slightly easier…until she moves to Dandridge, the second oldest town in Tennessee.

Beau Brogan was a hard working country boy from Dandridge, Tennessee who loved his family and stole the hearts of many southern belles. But all of that came to a tragic halt at the age of nineteen when his life came to an untimely end. For the past hundred years, his spirit has been entombed in a ghostly life of loneliness and misery that he wishes would just end…until the Reeds move in.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Janae has been a writer since she was old enough to hold a pencil. Her genre of choice was poetry and short stories—until now. After falling in love with so many books over the past decade, she decided that she wanted to write a novel of her own and bring life to the characters that haunt her mind. It wasn’t until 2012 that she pursued that passion and started on her first YA novel. 115,000 words later, For Always was born.

Having grown up in an historical Dandridge home that was used as slave quarters during the Civil War, she experienced several things that couldn’t be explained. Due to these events, she sought out and joined an investigative team called Eyewitness Paranormal. Her interest in ghosts and the unexplained, combined with her love for telling a story, made writing the For Always series inevitable.

Janae was born and raised in East Tennessee, where she currently resides with her husband, two children, and their hairless dog, Slick. In her spare time, she likes to read, play tennis, and spend time with her family on the lake.

Cover Reveal – The Guardians

Another new book coming soon from Limitless Publishing…

“The Guardians” by K.L. Penington

Book #1 in the Lost Realm Series

Coming August 2013…

The Guardians

Synopsis:

When sixteen-year-old twins Emma and Evin LeFay are suddenly forced to pack their belongings after the tragic murder of their mother, they soon find that the busy city life of Boston, Massachusetts is more than they could have expected.

First are the two mysterious boys that Emma crosses paths with one night, after being caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. She thought she escaped them without getting caught, but it soon becomes apparent to her and Evin after a series of strange events that someone—or rather, several people—seem to be following them.

It’s after a close-run in with a group of menacing creatures, and the sudden aid of the same strange people that have been following them that Emma and Evin quickly realize there is more to Boston than skyscrapers and noisy cars.

Left with no other options and seeking the truth behind their mother’s murder, Emma and Evin accompany their saviors to a place known as Hawthorne Academy. It’s here that the twins soon learn they are part of a supernatural race with rare abilities, known as Dracons, one Otherworld race amongst four other paranormal races that have lived in disguise as humans for centuries.

Being part of an Otherworld race has its drawbacks, however, when Emma and Evin are enrolled for training at Hawthorne after a heated meeting with the Otherworld Council and its leaders. It’s either sink or swim for these Otherworldly twins as they train at the academy and learn to control their unique gifts.

Convinced life couldn’t get much more bizarre, Emma and Evin discover a mysterious archway leading to an entirely different realm that has been lost over time. It’s in this Lost Realm and the Celestial kingdom of Evmurah that the twins are dubbed the Guardians of the Realms, protectors of both the Mortal and Immortal Realms.

It’s Emma and Evin’s job to protect both realms from the darkness that taints them and the mysterious Precursor that seems to want them dead.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

K.L. Penington was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, which is what initially inspired the background for Emma and Evin. It was at an early age that K.L. discovered she was not whatsoever athletically gifted, an evil genius, or the next Beethoven. One thing she did know, however, was that she loved to read. As a result, growing up, some of her best friends and biggest influences in her life were the characters from her favorite books.

The passion behind K.L.’s writing comes from the ability to be anyone and do anything, and because she can share the multiple different personalities living in her head without anyone judging her—much. Her dream has always been to one day see own books on bookshelves, next to the hundreds of other books she enjoys reading.

Currently residing in Wichita Falls, Texas, K.L. attends Midwestern State University, where she is in fierce pursuit of English degree. When not writing, K.L. can be found haunting the local coffee shop, nurturing an everlasting addiction to chai tea, or spoiling her only child, Lily, the small poodle with the big attitude.

My Call Story (Or The Post I Thought I’d Published)

I’ve wrote this post in May and sat on it for a few days while I signed contracts, calmed down etc.

And then forgot to publish it!

I have signed with Limitless Publishing for the Soul Ties series, the first book is scheduled for release in August this year.

So how did this happen? Soul Ties is the second manuscript I’ve queried this year. Following a few rejections, I decided to shelve my other paranormal romance for revision and focus on Soul Ties. The response I got to the characters and story early on, from my writing group and CP, confirmed this was the way to go. And I loved what I’d created (especially Ava and Keir).

Once I decided to try and get Soul Ties a publisher, I entered a few pitching competitions (because you know I love those). I also sent to a couple of publishers who I thought my work suited, including Limitless Publishing. A few requested full manuscripts and I sent, sat back and waited for the rejections to roll in again.

I had my fingers crossed for Limitless Publishing because as soon as I saw their website, it was evident how much support they were giving their authors. The book covers and marketing jumped out at me and I hoped I’d be a fit for them. So I read through some of their authors’ books and waited hopefully…

Once they requested my full, the offer for the series followed quickly. What a start to my weekend!

This was a few weeks ago now but the excitement hasn’t worn off. I’m now working with my editor on polishing the manuscript and enjoying connecting with the Limitless team. I feel lucky to have the chance to share Soul Ties with you all and thank Limitless Publishing for the opportunity to join their group of talented authors.

I will keep you all updated every step of the way. And I’m writing the sequel right now :)
